It was a tweet that shocked many at the weekend, but it probably came as no surprise.
Nadine Coyle’s good fortune has turned as her controversial social media message on Friday slashed the image of the “united front” Girls Aloud had portrayed as they announced their split.
Industry sources have claimed the girls are “furious” for her suggesting they went behind her back to plan the group’s once-and-for-all split, the Daily Mirror reports.
Twenty-seven-year-old Coyle faces the wrath of her fellow bandmates after she tweeted that she “couldn’t stop” the girls ending their ten-year music career as a group.
The tweet also said that she had “no part” in the decision for the band to break up.
“They have parted on terrible terms,” a source close to the five singers told the Daily Mirror.
“The girls hadn’t seen much of US-based Nadine until they reunited for the tour and now it doesn’t look like they’ll ever see much of her once she’s gone back to LA.
“As soon as Sarah saw the tweet she called Nadine to say how angry she was. The tweet made it look like the girls went behind Nadine’s back to make the decision.”
The source claims that it had always been planned that the girls would part ways when the tour was over.
“The plan had always been to split after the tour. Nadine also felt the sharp end of Cheryl’s tongue. Nadine’s behaviour has left a bitter taste in everyone’s mouth,” the insider concluded.
Coyle’s former bandmates Kimberley Walsh, 31, and Nicola Roberts, 27, are also said to be angry with the singer.
The group’s bosses called an emergency meeting to work out how to handle the girls’ fallout and criticised Nadine for putting the other girls in such an awkward position.
