Alyssa Scott shares “painful” update as Nick Cannon announces he’s expecting eighth child

Alyssa said it hurts to have her late son's name brought into the conversation.

Alyssa Scott has responded to the news that ex-partner Nick Cannon is expecting his eighth child. Nick was spotted hosting a gender reveal party in Malibu, California, on Saturday with his new partner Bre Ties. It comes just over a month after Alyssa and Nick's five-month-old son Zen tragically died due to brain cancer. Taking to Instagram, Alyssa wrote: "I want to thank every single person who has messaged or thought of me over the course of these last few months. I always say Zen expanded my heart in ways I never thought possible. He filled that space with compassion, knowing I would need that most. "It is painful having my son be a part of conversations that aren’t in alignment with his light and legacy. It isn’t something I chose for him or myself.

"It’s important for me to let you all know.. I am centered, I am at peace. I look at everyone’s predicament with loving eyes. I will not judge. I will consciously decide what I will participate in.

"I am surrounded by love. God, my mom, dad, sister, brother, and daughter continue to carry me."

Nick confirmed the news on his talk show on Monday night, admitting that he had had reservations about the new pregnancy and had not planned on announcing it yet. "Going through all of that, this was always in the back of my mind, like, 'What is the right time? How do I share this?'" he said.

"We didn’t expect Zen to pass away… All of the news was so unexpected.

"I wanted to definitely respect the grieving process with Alyssa, and Bre was respectful enough. She held off making our announcements and speaking on social media.

"She’s a very in the public eye type of person, but keeps her stuff private as welL

"I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know what to say when I was dealing with Zen or to hold off. Even right now, that it came out yesterday, that wasn’t planned to talk about it. "We wanted to, you know, hold on as long as we can - but it happened." Nick also shares 10-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan with ex-wife Mariah Carey. He has a 4-year-old son Golden “Sagon” and a 1-year-old daughter Powerful Queen with ex Brittany Bell. He welcomed 6-month-old twins, Zion Mixolydian and Zillion “Zilly” Heir, along with Abby De La Rosa in June 2021.
