Singer Adele revealed that she’s not ready to return home to the UK in an emotional appearance on James Cordon‘s Carpool Karaoke.
After eight years, Carpool Karaoke will wrap up this week with the finale featuring lots of famous faces.
The chat show host and Adele had an emotional ride in the final episode where they really opened up about their personal struggles.
Cordon shared that he felt “unsafe” in his own home following the restaurant controversy last year.
He received a huge amount of backlash after he was branded a “tiny cretin of a man” by the owner of a New York diner.
Holding back the tears Adele told James she knew he wasn’t himself during a holiday they went on together.
She asked him why he was so down and he said work and internet trolls had a major affect on his mental health.
A teary-eyed Adele explained that she felt “unsafe” because James did and that he’s always been there for her.
The Grammy winner even opened up about her divorce and said the family holiday herself and James went on really helped her cope during such a difficult time.
She said: “The year that I left Simon, you and Jules and the kids were so integral in looking after me and Angelo.

The pair broke down.
The artist revealed that just a few weeks after their heart-to-heart, she wrote I Drink Wine and took a lot of inspiration from Cordon.
During the final episode of Carpool Karaoke, Adele spoke about why she isn’t ready to go back to the UK.
As their drive came to an end, an emotional James thanked the star for being a part of his final day on the show.
He said he’s going to really miss working with his friends in LA and didn’t expect to make such close friends through work.
Adele said: “You are one of my best friends in the whole world and I’m going to miss you.”
They both started to cry but James replied: “And you are mine. I love you and we have had the best time here.”
James reassured Adele and said that distance would not affect their friendship.
Sobbing she said: “I’m just not ready to come back yet, otherwise I would come back with you.”
Adele previously said that her and ex-husband Simon Konecki moved to LA because they wanted to improve their quality of life.
She said she’d never be able to afford the house she has in LA if it was in London.
James announced that he decided to retire from his duties as host of The Late Late Show last year.
He said it was a “really hard” decision but ultimately after years on the show, he’s “immensely proud” and is ready to go home to the UK.
