Adam Collard admits he purposely chose Paige Thorne to stay in Love Island

The couple split last year.

Love Island star Adam Collard has admitted that he went into the villa last year and intentionally coupled up with Paige Thorne to get ahead. During the 2022 series, Adam arrived in the villa much later as the ultimate bombshell after first appearing on the show back in 2018. After coupling up with Paige, the two stayed together until September last year but broke up after a video emerged of Adam getting close to another woman after a night out. Following Paige's revelation that the two split when he flew to Thailand and "ghosted" her, Adam has now opened up more about their relationship and in particular, their time on the ITV show. Speaking to MailOnline, Adam admitted that he went into the villa with a plan and insinuated that he chose to be in a couple with Paige as a way of keeping himself on the series. He said: "The thing with Love Island is I’m the only one who is willing to admit it, I would completely choose the right person to stay on the show. “We all know the game. It was really hard for me the second time because I could see through everything, it is unbelievable how clear it is the second time. “It messes with your head, you almost convince yourself you like these people and then once you see the light and get back home you realise you aren’t a perfect match.” Adam recently opened up about his split from Paige to The Sun and said that he’s taking a break from dating since his public break up. “I don’t regret anything,” he said. “I’ve had relationships and some have worked out better than others. I’ve had bad breakups and you learn from it. I’ll still have them again. “Not everything you have seen is what it seems."
