Actress Denise Richards caught up in a “terrifying car-to-car shooting”

Actress Denise Richards has reportedly been caught up in a “terrifying car-to-car shooting” in California. TMZ has reported that the horrifying ordeal took place in Los Angeles on Monday night as Denise was on her way to Popsicle Studio with her husband Aaron Phypers to shoot for her upcoming film Angels Fallens: Warriors of Peace. Thankfully the couple were left uninjured in the incident. Aaron is believed to have been driving their Ford F-150 Shelby truck as Denise rode in the passenger seat when gunfire broke out. It has been reported that they were having trouble locating where they were going and this made the driver behind them angry. A source revealed to People that Aaron noticed the driver of the other car was "obviously pissed” in a “gold and maroon” van behind them." “[Aaron] could tell — he kept making rights because they were clearly being followed,” the source said, also noting that they were “frantic” while the ordeal went on. People then went on to report that Aaron let the driver pass but they instead stopped at the left of their car and when Aaron rolled down the window to apologise and then continue driving, the driver shouted at them. The couple only noticed that their car had been shot at from the back on the driver's side when they pulled up at their destination.

“The guy had taken off by then, but when they realised the car was shot, they were really freaked out, and the production secured the scene,” the source added.

Someone in the production crew had spotted the damage to the car and called 911, with TMZ reporting that the LAPD are now investigating the incident. While they thankfully walked away uninjured, Denise is said to be left "unnerved” and “sobbing” as well as "very shaken up and terrified."
