He is also survived by his son who he had with his first wife Sarah Harvey.
Tributes have poured in for the late actor on social media, with many taking to Twitter to share their thoughts about the late actor.
One person wrote: “RIP Julian Sands. A great actor. None of the eulogies are doing his talent justice. Iconic in Room With A View. And a transformer ever since playing against his looks. An eccentric, hilarious, wildly intelligent and passionate artist. And a great friend.”
Another said: “Spent a few conventions in company of the uber talented Julian Sands (here w/ M Mcdowell) he explained con’s are like ‘putting on a 2 min play for an audience of 1’. Truly 1 of the most charming gentlemen I’ve ever encountered- a sentiment held by many. Rest in peace & power.”
While a third wrote: “To me, he will always be George Emerson, frolicking in a pond with Rupert Graves in a golden Edwardian summer. (Merchant Ivory’s “A Room With a View”) Rest in Peace Julian Sands.”
