Aaron Carter’s cause of death has been revealed after his sudden passing in November.

The 34 year old singer was found dead in his home in California on November 5 2022.

TMZ reported back in November that law enforcement officers had been sent to the location at around 11am after they had received a 911 call that a man had “drowned in the bathtub”.

Now, the official autopsy report has been obtained by various US media publications and reveals he died after being “incapacitated” and “submerged underwater”.

The report reads: “Based on the autopsy findings, investigative reports and circumstances, as currently known, Mr Carter became incapacitated while in the bathtub due to the effects of inhaling compressed gas and taking alprazolam.

“This resulted in him becoming submerged under water, unable to breath, and ultimately led to his death.”

Aaron’s death has been ruled an accident by the coroner.

In a statement, a representative for the pop star confirmed the news and said: “We’re just as upset as everybody and hope that fans can give their thoughts and prayers to his family.”

Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter also shared a tribute to his brother when he passed, writing: “Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded. I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed.

“Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here. I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you Chizz. Now you can finally have the peace you could never find here on earth….I love you baby brother.”
