Former Westlife star Shane Filan is hitting Hollywood to film his first solo music video.
The Sligo man said he’s still finding it hard to believe he’s doing his own production.
“It’s still hard to believe it,” the 33-year-old told The Irish Sun.
“No better place to start than in Hollywood. I’ve come up with really good ideas for the video and we’ve picked an amazing director to shoot it.”
The star was declared bankrupt last year in the UK but is hoping for a new start. He thinks his 14 years with Westlife could help him along.
Shane hopes his Westlife past will help his career.
He said: “I’ve been finishing off my album and it’s nearly done now.
“I just got back from Stockholm where I did some writing sessions, which brought back a lot of great memories.”
Shane leaves for LA next week and will return to travel the country for radio interviews before his CD release later this summer.
“To say I cannot wait is an understatement. I’m looking forward to visiting lots of radio stations around the country.”
At the moment, Shane and former Westlifer Mark Feelihy are working on their solo careers, while Nicky Byrne and Kian Egan are building up their TV and radio work.
