Rugby royalty and actual royals were among guests...

He may not have captained his last match wearing the green jersey but Brian O’Driscoll is still the king of Irish rugby in many people’s eyes… including the 2,000 guests who shelled out over €600 to attend his testimonial dinner in London last night.

The €680-a-head dinner which took place in the Grovesnor Hotel on swanky Park Lane, was attended by over 2,000 guests which included Prince William, Bono and The Script’s Danny O’Donoghue. Prince William’s pregnant wife Kate did not attend.

Also by Brian’s side was wife Amy Huberman, who looked stunning in a black sequinned dress and black Louboutins. The testimonial dinner was the first public outing for the new parents, since they welcomed daughter Sadie into the world on Februry 10th.

BOD played his last match for Ireland on Saturday…

Other guests included Brian’s teammates Johnny Sexton, Jamie Heaslip, Rob Kearney, Cian Healy and Shane Horgan but unsurprisingly Declan Kidney did not attend.

River Dance and Scottish songwriter Emile Sande provided the entertainment on the night and even Hollywood hunk Michael Fassbender jetted in especially for the event.

But, it wasn’t all about Brian – a live silent auction helped raise a substantial sum of money for the rugby player’s chosen charity, the Irish Rugby Union Charitable Trust – a group that helps severly injured players with their everyday lives.
