The number one man that features in the fantasies of housewives?

You got it, it’s the world’s most eligible bachelor, George Clooney.

The Ocean’s Eleven man just pipped his buddy Brad Pitt and the eclectic Johnny Depp to the post.

A study of almost 2,000 housewives revealed that Clooney is the man that occupies their thoughts while their husband is out during the day.

Although no stranger to being lusted over, the results prove Clooney, now 51, hasn’t lost his touch with the fairer sex. The Bond effect has taken housewives’ thoughts by storm too, as 007 star Daniel Craig shot into fourth place, with Golden Balls himself, David Beckham, rounding off the top five.

The study, commissioned by Celebalike, the app that shows you which celebrity your face resembles most, proved bachelor Clooney’s still got it but family men like Beckham are admired for his ‘Daddy Cool’ image too.

One of our favourites, X factor host Dermot O’Leary, missed out as he just made the top 20 in the bottom spot. We thought his skills at hugging, consoling and making the best of a bad situation would have put him at a higher ranking!

A sixth of women spend their time wishing their celebrity would come and whisk them off somewhere exciting, while the cougar trend was deemed acceptable by one in four women, reasoning that dating an 18-year-old was perfectly alright.
