Last week, Madonna faced a wave of backlash from the public after she spent a measly 45minutes on stage at a gig in France. Now, however, the Queen of Pop has hit back at her critics.
The Irish Sun reports that Madge was pretty much booed off stage by angry fans who had paid up to €255 a ticket in order to see the singer on her MDNA tour and in the days following the poor performance, fans are demanding that their tickets be refunded and that Madge makes an apology.
According to reports, the show was a last-minute addition to Madonna’s tour schedule and it was hoped that if Madonna made an appearance, it would help to smooth things over with France’s far-right National Front party.
Madonna: Single-handedly shocking France.
At a gig in France earlier this month, Madonna managed to insult the entire political party after she used the big screens on her stage to project a swastika onto the forehead of a picture of the party’s leader.
“When we can start saying we have to get rid of this person, because then we’ll have a better place, it starts to sound like something scary,” said Madonna, speaking about the concert.
“So the next time you want to point the finger at somebody and blame them for a problem, take that finger and point it back at you,” she added.
Now, nobody is pointing fingers, but in all fairness Madge, if we paid €255 for a 45minute set, we’d be pretty mad at you too right about now…
