She told Loose Women that although she made a "few mistakes" over the years, she was surprised to learn that her sons were also privy to the headlines. "The press gave me a hard time over the years, some deserved, some not so deserved," she said. I was absolutely spitting feathers," she said. "He completely stuck up for me. "And friends told me later on that he’d been absolutely passionate in his fervour of sticking up for me, when we were getting a bit of bad press about the marriage break up and stuff."
