This book will help you out of your reading slump
Many of us have promised to read more books in 2025 but where do you start?
There are too many books to choose from but even the most popular ones won’t always hold your attention.
I’ve read many bestsellers that failed to live up to the hype but there’s one book you can rely on to help you out of a reading rut.
Emily Henry is undoubtedly one of the best rom-com writers around at the moment.
Her books are as addictive as any Nora Ephron movie and never fail to impress us with their likable characters, relatable themes, and gripping plots.
She has mastered the art of the perfect rom-com and now has many New York Times bestsellers under her belt.
As a major fan of Henry’s work, it’s hard to pick one book of hers to recommend but You and Me on Vacation comes out on top for me.
The will-they-won’t-they arc, the charming characters, and flawless writing make it the perfect book to read if you’re in need of some serious escapism.
Our reality may be gloomy and cold at the moment but that doesn’t mean we can’t dream about being on vacation with Poppy and Alex.
The novel follows two best friends on a trip that will determine the rest of their lives.
What happens in You and Me On Vacation?
12 summers ago: Poppy and Alex meet. They hate each other, and are pretty confident they’ll never speak again.
11 summers ago: They’re forced to share a ride home from college and by the end of it a friendship is formed. And a pact: every year, one vacation together.
10 summers ago: Alex discovers his fear of flying on the way to Vancouver. Poppy holds his hand the whole way.
7 summers ago: They get far too drunk and narrowly avoid getting matching tattoos in New Orleans.
2 summers ago: It all goes wrong. This summer: Poppy asks Alex to join her on one last trip. A trip that will determine the rest of their lives.
The book is available to purchase on paperback and Kindle via Amazon.
