Tropical Popical on Dublin’s South William Street is the latest nail art bar to open its doors but we guarantee you’ve never seen anything like it this side of the Atlantic.
From the decor (think bold neon colours, a giant Pineapple coffee table and a more than healthy obsession with kitsch flamingos) to the intricate cartoon inspired nail art, this super glam salon is not for the faint hearted and owner Andrea Horan is on a mission to transform the way we get our nails done.
“For too long, getting your nails done in Dublin has meant a trip to middle of the floor of a department store or an over-priced visit to some boring place devoid of atmosphere. In the States, getting your nails done is a weekly social occasion, somewhere to go for a natter instead of going for a coffee or a drink with a friend. Tropical Popical will be a place people want to hang out in, whether for a shop, manicure, lounge or gossip.”

And that’s not all! As well as stocking the most covetable cocktail jewellery around including pieces from the Ana-Lee brand from Dublin designer Jen Quinn, the salon also wants to start Bette Midler, Madonna and Whitney Houston theme nights and get palm readers in to further entertain their clients.
The salon also does Gelish three week manicures and pedicures too, stocking an extensive range of bright, vibrant and on-trend colours and with prices starting at €7 for a polish change, it’s the most affordable way to give yourself a beauty treat before the party season kicks in.
