Between central heating and crazy weather, we shouldn’t be too surprised that our locks go a little crazy during the winter months.
You’d think that putting moisture back into your hair, in any shape or form, would sort your tresses out but the beauty experts at Allure have alerted us to one important fact.
New York based stylist Matt Fugate spoke to the beauty bible recently and explained that standard hair oils, masks and conditioners tend to make you hair heavy and drag it down.
Instead of soft silky locks, you just get hair that’s overloaded with product and stuck together.
We can’t promise Kate Middleton hair but it’s worth a go!
The way around this, according to Matt, is using a dry oil. They “smooth hair without giving you a drowned-rat look”.
Cosmetic chemist Ron Robinson backed this theory up explaining that dry oils are a combination of “”the lightest silicones and a lower concentration of oils, diluted with other ingredients, like stabilisers”.
It sounds complicated but basically this means they add moisture, smooth flyaways and up the shine factor. All of this without weighing hair down.
*YAY*
