The Beauty Buzz

Metallic is not just for Christmas you know. With the news that Christmas departments are opening up around the country ALREADY, we’re ever so slightly allergic to talk of the festive season while the summer has not yet said goodbye. That said, well happily embrace a bit of gold, silver and blonde sparkle at any time of the year. The latest drop from budget brand Catrice is all about making your makeup pop with a little metallic magic.

The Beauty Brand

Catrice is a German beauty brand that’s widely accessible throughout Ireland. They’re known for cheap-as-chips products that offer good coverage, strong pigmentation and an extremely pocket-friendly way to test out new trends before splurging on pricier products. It’s typical to see several trend-driven drops hit the shelves every season and they’re not long flying out of the stores…

The Beauty Break-though

There’s no one re-inventing the wheel with this line. It’s more of a subtle encouragement to embrace bronze, gold and silver outside of the traditional “party season”. After all, you can party whenever you damn well please. Some of the highlights…

Liquid Metal Eyeshadow in Gold n ‘Roses has added a shot of golden metal to a pretty rose shade. This product has high pigment with extraordinary metallic shine that can be used as both an eyeshadow and a highlighter. This rose golden shade will complement every skin tone complexion

Catrice Cosmetics Absolute Eye Colour in ‘The Captain of The Black Pearl’ is an striking shade with a silver metallic tone throughout.

Catrice Cosmetics Kohl Kajal Eyeliner in Cleopetrol will help you nail that sultry smoky eye makeup look

Ultimate Nail Lacquer in The GlamoureXFactor or Greyday, Greyday offers you a copper and steel base with a metallic impression in each colour.

The Beauty Budget

We’re starting at €2.29 (yes, you read that right) and most of the products on offer will set you back less than a fiver. Who could argue with that?

They Say: Add some edge to your everyday makeup with an injection of metallic magic. The shiny stuff isn’t just for Christmas so don’t be scared of this shimmering beauty trend. Catrice Cosmetics have put together the metallic essentials for you to inject some shimmer into your look.

We Say: We’ve been lyrical in our praise of Catrice’s products in the past, in particular the Ultimate Nail Lacquer, and the new shades will help you nail the metallic trend (quite literally). The Kojl eyeliner is also pretty fab and we’ve taken to stocking up when we spot them… at that price you don’t cry if you lose one. It’s another strong show from Catrice and we can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
