Here’s how you can mimic Taylor Swift’s signature red lip

Jody Coffey

If it’s Taylor-related, I want it.

Taylor Swift is a master at many things; breakup anthems, Easter eggs, fan relationships, and of course, that signature red lip.

After those pictures of Taylor Swift cheering with Travis Kelce’s mum at Arrowhead Stadium for the Kansas City Chiefs game went viral, we have some questions: 1) Are they actually a couple? And 2) How does she get that perfect red lip?

While the answer has been found for the red lip, we still await Travis Kelce confirmation. In the meantime, you can channel your inner Tay-Tay without breaking the bank to do it.

The Bad Blood singer has been known to sport a classic red line for as long as we’ve know her so it’s understandable that she’s frequented a number of reds from a number brands, so let’s go back a few years.

In 2014, Taylor revealed to MTV that while she had several ‘go-tos’ when it comes to the perfect red, you ‘cant go wrong’ with Dragon Red by Nars, which is currently selling for just €21.

Flash forward a year later in 2015, the Cruel Summer songstress told People that the red shade Ruby Woo by MAC is also makeup bag staple of hers, as reported by Teen Vogue.

The Taylor-approved lipstick retails at €26.

However, in more recent times, the Maroon singer enlists the help of makeup artist Pat McGrath for her romantic red lip.

Pat told E! News that Taylor donned her LiquiLUST Legendary Wear Lipstick in the shade Elson 4 from Pat McGrath Labs line in the music video for Bejewelled.

“When I think of Taylor, I always think of a perfect red lip,” Pat told the outlet.

“When we first did the Met Gala in 2010, we did a bold, confident, empowered look centred on red matte lipstick. For ‘Bejeweled’ and her VMAs appearance, I couldn’t imagine not doing something with red lipstick.”

The LiquiLUST Legendary Wear Lipstick lipstick is affordable but a little more on the expensive side compared to Taylor’s other picks at €35.

In the music video, Pat employed four lipsticks to create an ombré effect on the singer’s lips pout.

In addition to using the LiquiLUST Legendary Wear Lipstick, Pat used the PermaGel Ultra Glide Lip Pencils in a combination of brown, red, and black (Deep Dive, Blood Lust and Deep Void) from her line to nail the femme fatale look.

While the red lip she was sporting at the Chicago Bears versus Kansas City Chiefs game still remains under wraps, creating a Taylor-inspired red lip has never been easier.
