If you’ve been away on holidays or made use of that one day of sunshine that Ireland had this summer, you may have gotten a bit of a tan.
And as everybody knows this is a rather unique thing to have and thus should be maintained for as long as possible.
So here are a few tips on how best you can keep that bronzed appearance of yours…
- If you don’t do anything else, make sure you moisturise and do it as much as possible at least once a day. Your normal moisturiser will do but after-sun is better because it’s designed for sun-kissed skin. Moisturising is absolutely vital for your tan. If you want to add to your tan, there are plenty of moisturising products that have a gradual tanner in them.
- When you get back from holidays it is important to find out what ingredients are in the beauty and skin products that you normally use. Some products will contain ingredients that actually remove tan. These include exfoliators and hair removal products. Acne lotions are also known to remove tan.
- Believe it or not but you can eat and drink your way to a longer tan. Fruit, vegetables and nuts are all great for getting healthy looking skin and thus will help your skin to maintain its natural glow. Drinking lots of water will help your moisturiser to keep your skin hydrated and thus healthy.
- The most effective way to maintain your tan is to top it up whenever and wherever you get the chance. Even if it is just in your own back garden some evening after work, go out and sit in the sun or go for a walk. But do remember that even our Irish sun can burn so it is vital that you put on sun cream.
So there’s no guaranteed way of making your tan last until the next sunny day or your next holiday but by following these simple steps, there’s a better chance your glow will stick around for at least a little while longer.
