Have we finally found a shampoo that repairs our damaged hair?

We can safely say our hair has seen better days after strengthening the life out of it during our teenage years, bleaching it in our 20s, and now dealing with the damage in our 30s.

Many of us invest so much time and effort in our skincare, but we can’t say we’ve done the same for our hair.

Our hair is something that could do with some major TLC, but with so many products on the market it can be hard to find the right one for you.

I’ve tried many fancy shampoos but some can leave your hair feeling weighed down and greasy.

One product I recently tried may just be one of the best (and most affordable) out there.

OGX recently upgraded their range of shampoo and condition with double the amount of lipid and protein protection.

The addition of the lipid and protein protection defends hair fibres against damage and delivers even better protection for immediate softness and visible repair

When it comes to healthy, beautiful hair, damage prevention goes hand in hand with damage repair

How to repair damaged hair?

The team at OGX explained that washing your hair every day can cause a lot of damage, but there are ways to repair your hair.

They explained:

“It’s a fact rarely discussed, but the act of washing your hair inevitably results in some damage, whatever your hair type and especially if you are a frequent washer. Harsh surfactants and other aggressive ingredients can strip hair of its naturally occurring protective lipids, leaving its valuable proteins vulnerable to damage, compromising the strand’s overall health.”

“Unlike skin, hair is not a living structure, which means it cannot regenerate itself when it’s damaged.  Instead, the hair contains naturally occurring lipids that lend it strength and help protect the hair’s important proteins from damage.

“Unfortunately, everyday cleansing can strip hair of its lipids, leaving it weak and vulnerable to damage,” explains Frank Sun, Research & Development at OGX Haircare.

The team developed Lipi Pro Shield to help repair damaged hair after just one wash, but how does it work?

The OGX team explained that the formula actively protects proteins and lipids during the wash process, so hair remains healthy and resilient.

The shampoo helps preserve each strand’s lipid content and restores damaged and brittle hair with each use.
