MAC are launching a limited edition collection inspired by the Troll Dolls

Ellen Tannam

MAC are a cosmetics brand who are known for their collaborations, from Mariah to Rihanna to Ariana – if you’re hot you likely have a MAC collection.

Putting this reputation for interesting celebrity endorsements aside, their latest announcement should really appeal to those who are nostalgic for the 1980s and 1990s, and simpler times.

They have announced a limited-edition collection with the Good Luck Troll Dolls, aka some of the most iconic and ugliest toys of the late 20th century, that we found so loveable.

These were probably only rivalled by Beanie Babies in terms of collectability, and the makeup itself reflects the brash neon colours of the trolls’ iconic hairdos.

Not the most wearable of stuff, but should be of interest to makeup junkies and toy enthusiasts alike.

According to Allure, the collection includes eyeshadows, vibrant lipsticks and pigments, and two beauty powders.

MAC’s senior VP James Gager said:

“The Good Luck Trolls have evoked love and joy since the 1960s. We are so happy we can put the spotlight on them again. MAC Cosmetics celebrates pop culture and fantasy – and brings these enchanting characters to life – through this eclectic, bright-hued collection.”
