“Oil-slick” lips do not sound like something we want.
But they are. Oh, they are.
The trend, also dubbed “mermaid” or “holographic” lips is a nod to the recent “galaxy hair” look, and is popping up on beauty bloggers’ Instagrams all over the world.
The look can be achieved by mixing a variety of metallic lipsticks, and finishing with a slick of extra-shiny gloss.
If you don’t have metallic lipstick, it is likely you will have some metallic eyeshadow shades in your arsenal.
We reckon these will look just as good, just make sure your lips are well moisturised beforehand, as powder eyeshadows can be quite drying.
Finish with your gloss, and voila. Mermaid lips.
