Everyone loves a good smoky eye and dark shades are popular when opting for a dramatic look. However, make-up artist Mary Phillips, spoke to Allure and said that when it comes to choosing eyeshadow colours, there's one specific thing to keep in mind. She said that people often think that darker shades will ‘enhance’ your peepers but that only applies to people who have big eyes. Light neutral shades will soften and highlight while layering on the black only serves to “diminish and shrink” your eyes. We're going to keep it in mind for future reference because Mary clearly knows her stuff. She's responsible for the smoky eye look sported by Shay Mitchell of Pretty Little Liars fame, at the People’s Choice Awards this week.
