Groom Sues New Bride… After Seeing Her Without Makeup

Look, we're no strangers to the marvel of a mascara wand or the face-transforming properties of a decent red lippie, but this is ridiculous.  An Algerian groom has taken his new bride to court, just ONE day after their wedding... because he saw her without her makeup. The man is now seeking $20,000 in damages. Emirates 24/7 reports that the unnamed groom told a court in Algiers he was "shocked" when he woke the morning after the wedding to discover he didn't recognise his new bride. Local newspapers in the North African Arab country report that the man swore in court he mistook his wife for a “thief who came to steal his apartment". A court source quoted by one paper said: “He said she looked very beautiful and attractive before marriage, but when he woke up in the morning and found that she had washed the make-up off her face, he was frightened as he thought she was a thief. "The groom told court that he is demanding $20,000 damages for his psychological suffering.”
