Not everyone likes using lip liner as well as lipstick but liner can help both the application of your lipstick and the definition of your lip shape.
As with every beauty product it takes time and practice before you have mastered a certain look or technique.
To get you started on the lip liner front, here are some basic guidelines on how to get to grip with that lip liner.
- Half the battle is picking a lip liner that is close to the shade of lipstick you are going for. It is okay to go for lip liner that is a shade lighter than your lipstick but if you can use the same shade, do.
- Sharpen the lip pencil before you begin. This will help to prevent unnecessary smudging and will also get rid of any bacteria that have built up on the tip of the lip pencil ensuring a clean and quick application.
- Define your cupid’s bow. This is the most defined part to your upper lip that sits under your nose. All you have to do is put two dots at the either tip and join to make a ‘v’ shape with the pencil.
- Go around the remainder of your lips with your liner using short and controlled strokes. It is best to stay within the outline of your lips rather than going onto the skin. And remember to take your time.
- Once you have finished the outline, shade in the remainder of your lips. Now it is time to apply your lipstick.
Who said you couldn’t have lips like Scarlett Johansson? Well nobody is going to ever again after today.
