Get Ready for Walking Down the Aisle With These Wedding Day Makeup Essentials

It's your special day so the last thing you want to have to worry about is your makeup or hair. You certainly won't go wrong with these makeup essentials.

The last thing you want to worry about on your special day is how you look and thanks to us you won’t have to.

Here are seven must-have beauty essentials for you on your wedding day…

1. Waterproof mascara – Let’s face it, the last thing you want are panda eyes and mascara-stained cheeks on your big day. And while there’s no point of denying that there will be tears at some point along the way, you ought to make a point of applying waterproof mascara for eye-catching and tear-proof lashes. Tissues might not be a bad idea either.

2. Primer – Whether you believe in it or not primer might be a worthwhile investment to help your makeup to stay on all day. Alternatively you could try a loose powder over your foundation or go for a long-lasting foundation. Trust us, you will be thankful for it when people are snapping away after the last dance of the night!

3. Hairspray – Whatever hairstyle you have decided to go for, you will need to use a lot of hairspray if there is any hope of it staying in place. Be it a beautiful down do or an intricate up do, a can of this stuff is an absolute must. And don’t forget to close your eyes while it is sprayed. You don’t want stinging eyes.

4. Concealer – Chances are you won’t have slept a wink the night before your wedding day. Even if you do decide to be clever and have your hen night a week before the big day, you will be too nervous and excited to sleep. All you have to do is cover those under-eye circles with a touch of concealer and your guests will be none the wiser.

5. Hair removal cream – So the moment you and your groom have been waiting for. It’s your wedding night. To avoid any unnecess-hairy embarrassment, do a little hair removal work down below. While you’re at it, sort out your under arms and legs too. It might be best to do this the day before your wedding to avoid rashes and inflammation of skin.

6. Vaseline – With all the smiling you’ll be expected to do between talking to people and posing for pictures, it’s worth hydrating those luscious lips of yours. And besides you don’t want your first kiss as a wife to be ruined by dry or cracked lips. Mints might also be a worthwhile addition to your makeup bag.

7. Hand cream – We’re not going to lie to you, you’ll be expected to shake a lot of hands on the big day and chances are you won’t know half of the people they belong to. All the same you’d like to have nice soft hands to hold out to them so lather yours up with some hand lotion and shake it shake it baby!

8. Nail polish – Speaking of hands, if you get the time, give your nails a quick file and paint them with a clear or neutral polish. You’ll thank us when your photographs are developed and your nails look perfect. And remember it’s always the small details that make the biggest difference.

We’d love to hand around but we’re off to pack our wedding day makeup bags despite the fact that we’re not engaged yet. Still, we better do it just in case George Clooney decides to pop around and sweep us off our feet…
