Drew Barrymore is a self-confessed beauty obsessive, so much so that she devoted all of last week to beauty bits over on her Instagram.

Using the hashtag #beautyjunkie, the actress-turned-makeup mogul (she runs her own cosmetics brand Flower Beauty, don't ya know) shared some of her must-have products. Among the items she recommended was something that costs less than a fiver and that you probably have sitting next to your cooker at home right now.

She lauded olive oil as "a true beauty phenomenon from nature." "(It) helps nails and cuticles, soothes dry skin, removes make up, acts as a moisturizer, helps scrapes and cuts, nourishes hair, lip scrub with sugar, can shave with it, and it's delicious. So go for it!," she raved. Given how popular (and brilliant) coconut oil has been over the past few years, could olive oil be the next kitchen cupboard staple to become a beauty hit?
