Sometimes fashion goes too far.
A Balenciaga bag that goes for over €2,000 has sparked an online debate. The leather tote bears a remarkable resemblance to those plastic blanket bags you get in the homeware department of EVERY shop, which one twitter user was quick to point out.
Guys I’m exhausted by fashion. Is this not the bag we keep blankets in? pic.twitter.com/xaAyIBFL20

Now, to be fair we can’t actually tell if these bags are plastic. And we also won’t be forking out over €2,300 to find out, but people are generally suspect of this tote bag trend.
but seriously #Balenciaga why are you selling the bags for our blankets for £2000? mara why are you trolling us like this? #deathbyfashion pic.twitter.com/gCzVTWLW59

I’ve bought throws and blankets from the homeware department in a bag like this… And a fraction of the price tag too. #Balenciaga pic.twitter.com/lYNYcADnZm

The good news is if you want to be fashion forward you can just go to Dunnes Stores homeware, these bags start at just €30.
We’re so trendy.
