Dermatologist, Dr. Adel has taken to TikTok to share another budget-friendly skincare gem that she wishes more people knew about.
In her recent video, Dr. Adel spoke about a toner that you can buy at Boots. She calls it a “cheap and brilliant” option for those looking for effective skincare without breaking the bank.
The recommended product is a glycerin and rose water toner priced at just two pounds (€3).
“If you are looking for a toner and you’re looking for an affordable option, this is the one to go for,” she said.
The dermatologist praised the toner for its accessibility and effectiveness, particularly for those with sensitive skin, rosacea, or dryness.
The key ingredients in the toner are glycerin and rose water. Glycerin is a humectant which draws moisture into the skin, providing hydration and helping to maintain skin’s natural moisture balance.
Rose water, which is often overlooked in modern skincare, offers multiple benefits.
“Rose water, I feel like it’s something that people don’t talk about and it is really underrated,” Dr. Adel explained.
“Your mum probably used it, your grandma probably used it as an anti-inflammatory […] and if you’re somebody that gets redness to your skin, this is really good at reducing that.”
She noted its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, which can help reduce redness and soothe irritated skin.
Dr. Adel emphasised that this toner is not only effective but also incredibly affordable. “This is literally two pounds (€3) and I cannot recommend this enough,” she said.
She described ir as being similar to K-beauty toners, known for their gentle and hydrating formulas.
So, if you’re looking for a cost-effective solution to enhance your skincare routine, Dr. Adel’s recommendation is a great choice.
