Budget Beauty – Value for Money Brands we Love

Beauty buys don’t always have to cost the earth. Some of our favourite cosmetic treats are cheap as chips, so here are five budget beauty brands we love.

Rebecca McKnight

As much as we’ll happily save our pennies for a beauty buy we love, it’s great to get a little treat for under a fiver every now and again too. We’ve picked some of our favourite brands for bagging beauty bargains.

Catrice

A German makeup brand available through Dunnes, Penneys and selected pharmacies throughout the country, Catrice combine low prices, cool packaging, and a very fast turnaround on trends. In particular we’re big fans of the Evolution to Revolution Volume Mascara

Barry M

Every time we see a Barry M display we can’t help but be lured over by all the pretty colours. A British brand, Barry M is a great one to watch out for when you need something sparkly and our inner teenybopper is still completely in love with the Dazzle Dust.

Essence

Another German brand widely available through department stores across the country, Essence come up with all kinds of goodies and sell them for less than a fiver, which even on our worst wallet days we can usually stump up. Our best budget buys for nails are usually from these guys.

NYC

This American brand promises; ‘Uptown Style, Down to Earth Prices’, and as far as we’re concerned they are delivering the goods. New York Colour is growing in popularity on these shores for budget beauty buys like their mosaic powders, again coming in at less than a fiver. Win!

17

Many of us began our makeup obsession many moons ago with buys from this line and Natural Collection, another Boots brand. Our younger sisters are more frequent 17 shoppers these days, but we’ll still be lured back for the odd item, like the Berry Crush Lip Stain.
