Body Beautiful – Three New Beauty Buys to Try This Week

Three new beauty buys to try this week.

Rebecca McKnight

It’s a serious perk of the job here at Her.ie towers that we get to try and test some of the latest and greatest beauty releases and call it work. Lucky us. Here is a heads up on three products that got a communal thumbs up from the team in the week that was…

Moroccan ‘My Shine’ Shampoo & Conditioners 200ml, €2.89 and 400 ml €4.89, Herbal Essences

As far as bargain beauty buys go, Herbal Essences are always on the money.

The newest collection is Moroccan My Shine, containing the cult beauty ingredient Argan oil. In case you’re a few years late to the party, Argan oil is traditionally used in Morocco as a hair moisturising ingredient, (as well as a skin moisturiser and a cooking oil), and it’s the key ingredient in far more expensive treatments like MoroccanOil.

This buy won’t set your world alight, and you may not have a Scherzinger-style hairgasm, but this is a lovely release. It will do the job, it’s cheap as chips, and it smells absolutely amazing. Winner.

Fleur de Figuier Ultra Nourishing Oil, €26.95 for 100ml, Roger & Gallet

We love a nice multi-purpose beauty buy. This fab oil is rich, soft on your skin and can also be used on dry hair ends too. Boasting a fresh, feminine fragrance, this lovely newbie from the French beauty brand includes no less than ten different plant oils, including almond and apricot, along with omega 6 and 9. Vitamins A, E, F and K help to soften and hydrate the epidermis for maximum skin nourishment.  Free from paraben, silicone, colouring agents and mineral oil, this is a treat for sensitive skin and a perfect summer buy.

Velvet Smooth Express Pedi and Care Range, from €8.99, Scholl

We’ll just put it out there – this is not the most glamorous beauty purchase you’ll make this summer, but it might be one of the best. After all, if you’re hoping to expose your toes to the sunshine in sweet and strappy sandals, there’s every chance your poor feet will need some TLC first. You could of course opt for professional pedicures, but who’s got time for that. While you’re binge-watching the new series of Orange is the New Black this weekend, why not indulge in a little pamper time and opt for a DIY job.

Scholl’s new Velvet Smooth Express Pedi and complimentary care range is specifically developed for the professional removal of hard skin at home.

STEP 1: BUFF with Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi €49.99

This electrical hard skin remover buffs away hard skin in minutes. To use, simply roll across the affected area with light to medium pressure for super soft feet.

STEP 2: SOAK with Scholl Velvet Smooth Foot Soak €8.99

This foot soak contains green caviar, marine serum and Vitamin E, which helps to relax and cleanse your feet leaving them feeling fresh.

STEP 3: MOISTURISE with Scholl Velvet Smooth Intense Serum €8.99

Now that you’re buffed and soaked, you need to moisturise those poor overworked feet. Opt for this cooling and quickly-absobed formula to finish off your home treatment.
