It’s a serious perk of the job here at Her.ie towers that we get to try and test some of the latest and greatest beauty releases and call it work. Lucky us. Here is a heads up on three products that got a communal thumbs up from the team in the week that was…

Dr. PAWPAW, €10, Harvey Nichols
Nowadays there are plenty of multi-purpose beauty balms on the market, (Elizabeth Arden, Trilogy and Neal’s Yard Remedies are just three that spring to mind immediately), but we suggest there should still be room in your life for Dr.PAWPAW. Hero ingredient Pawpaw, (naturally), is paired with olive oil and aloe vera oil to create a smooth, long lasting balm. Papaya is a beauty ingredient that’s tough to beat, due to its rich source of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, which repairs, moisturisers and smoothes skin. Usable on skin and hair, this 25ml tube is a handy handbag size for a product you’ll find plenty of reasons to root out. Happily, it’s budget-friendly too.
Semi Di Lino Volume, from €12.50
Let’s be honest… we like it big. Our hair, that is. Semi Di Lino Volume is a product range dedicated to fine and flat hair that needs greater volume. Though slick and straight as an arrow had its brief moment in the sun, nowadays we’re all about excess volume, big and beautiful.
So, we were happy to put this newly launched range to the test. You can experiment with a magnifying shampoo, €12.95, magnifying conditioner, €12.95 and a magnifying eco-mousse, €14.95.
Semi Di Lino promise salon-quality products at supermarket prices. It’s a tall order, but they really do deliver. The name is the Italian for flax seed, which might give you an early heads up on the brand concentration on the best that nature has to offer. Free from parabens, parrafins and allergens, we were on to a winner with the ingredients straight away… but what of the results?
Another win. The shampoo and conditioner pair to first cleanse and detangle hair, then texturise the hair for a lovely full-bodied finish. The real winner for us, thought, was the eco-mousse, which works by lifting the roots. Light in texture and high on impact, the products gave us great body without losing out on softness and shine.

Roger&Gallet Body Lotions, €15
Roger&Gallet’s new body lotions are the latest offering from the French perfume house. We love this brand; they excel at creating scents that really do uplift your day. This new collection boasts five scents in two different formulas. The ‘Sorbets’ are named for their refreshing texture. These are suitable for normal skin and available in four key fragrances; Bois d’Orange, Cedrat, Fleur D’Osmanthus and Gingembre.
For dry skin the ‘Fondant’ texture is enriched with Shea butter. The Fondant is available in the Rose fragrance collection.
As we’ve come to expect from this brand, you get the finest ingredients and you skip parabens, silicone and colouring agents. For full on moisture with dreamy scents that last the day, you’ll be hard pressed to find better.
