This week, Laura Maher from Sandyford in Dublin nominated her best pal Trisha Niven, here’s what she had to say…
“The best lady in my life has to be my friend Trisha Niven.
“As well as having a full time job, she teaches kids majorettes, is a dancer in Atomic and trains five days a week! All this on top of looking after her mother at home, (who has health issues). She never stops, and I’m convinced she is sponsored by Duracell
“Not only this but she’s constantly on the phone as the agony aunt for the rest of us, through the good, bad and downright insane times in life, and always with spot-on advise, a large cuppa and some chocolate to make it all better.
“She’s one of those friends you can rely on no matter what the situation to give honest advise, (warning: don’t ask a question unless you want an honest answer! ‘Does my bum look big in this’ can result in tears!).
“I’d love something nice to happen for her as she always helps everyone else out, we’d be lost without her. There are four of us who hang around together and out of that foursome, three of us lost our dads so we talk to each other about it and it always helps, especially as we all get older and there’s always that question: ‘Do you think he would be proud of me?’
“Trish is always the first to point out your achievements (no matter how small) and give out reassurance.
“She also the best craic on a night out and the first one to the dance floor, with hilarious consequences!
“So that’s why she makes my (and my two friends’) lives better… There is nobody like her! x
