We’ve been swooning over spring summer 2016 fashion over the last few days but we haven’t given any attention to the new season make-up and hair trends.
That’s about to change though as this piece is dedicated to backstage beauty at London Fashion Week.
Beauty fans be warned, you’re going to want to recreate all of these looks at home.
Issa
Thankfully, the Issa SS16 is one we might actually be able to perfect as Vidal Sassoon’s Global Ambassador, Duffy, describes it as “hair to be worn”.
“it looks better throughout the day as it picks up lived-in movement, such as a kink that comes from tucking the hair behind the ear.”
The first step is a clarifying shampoo to eliminate product build-up followed by a lightweight conditioner.
Next step is to blow-dry the hair smooth and to add an effortless wave, curling irons were used on some of the models.
Understated beauty at its best.
Daks
Maria Comparetto summarised the Daks SS16 beauty buzz as “feminine with sultry shading”.
MAC must-haves were used backstage including Matchmaster Shade Intelligence Compact and Mineralize Charged Water Face And Body Lotion.
MAC Crévasse Pro Sculpting Creme, launches next season and it sounds like one to watch out for.
It was used under the cheek to contour and on the lips to finish.
Joseph
Duffy and Vidal Sassoon were responsible for the ‘just done’ hair at Joseph, in keeping with the natural look that’s big for SS16.
Strong shapes and stripes are predominant in Joseph’s new season line and effortless locks go perfectly with this casual chic style.
What’s really interesting about the method here is that each model’s hair was styled differently.
Some simply had their hair washed and blow-dried while girls with hair of a heavier texture had “the middle layer of hair braided” to reduce thickness and weight.
Explaining this idea, Duffy said that this technique “gives the effect of the trademark Sassoon undercut without actually cutting the hair”.
Jean Pierre Branganza
The Jean Pierre Braganza show was one of the first shows and take it from us, it was an LFW highlight.
The line is the most gorgeous mix of vibrant draped pieces and neutral tailored separates.
Of course, a stunning collection needs an accompanying beauty look and MAC’s director of make-up artistry, Terry Barber, described it as the “recreation of an ’80s supermodel”.
MAC staples Studio Fix concealer and foundation were key for this look and in keeping with the 80s theme, brow game was strong.
A combination of Omega, Copperplate and Burn eyeshadows created the perfect arched brow and we’re going to practice this one immediately.
