Lash on the SPF gals! Here are the 5 best suncreams you’ll use this summer

Rebecca O'Keeffe

You need these babies.

So ladies (and gents), we’re well into the swing of summer at this stage.

We’ve had good weather, bad weather, and as always, unpredictable weather.

However, it does look like we’re set for a couple of months of high temperatures and sunshine (and the odd shower, obviously).

There’s also the summer holidays, which we’re all counting down to at this stage.

Seriously, get me on a plane to a beach ASAP.

Anyway, with all the chat of summer and sunshine, I decided we should also talk about suncream.

It’s important, I know you all know that. Not only will you prevent burning, but you’ll prevent sun damage that leads to wrinkles and such.

So really, you should never be without it, especially during the summer months.

And if you’re not really sure what suncream is right for you – then you’re in luck.

I have decided to do a little round up of my 5 favourite suncreams that I will be bringing away with me in a few weeks.

In fact, I have them packed already, because I am ultra prepared.

So, without further adieu…

1: Clarins Dry Touch Facial Sun Care, Factor 50, €23.

No matter what factor I go for on my body, I will always use a 50 on my face, and this Clarins one is my favourite. It’s enriched with botanical extracts and is water and sweat resistant – important. And the one thing that’s super important about this cream is that it’s perfect for sensitive skin.

2: Vichy Anti-Dehydration Spray, Factor 30, €19.50.

This stuff is A DREAM. You get a refreshing cool down, while also protecting yourself from the sun. It’s a light spray that works to resist salt and chlorine, while preserving the skin’s hydration levels. It combines Hyaluronic Acid and Vichy Mineralising Water, and keeps skin fully protected against the suns powerful UVA, UVB and Long UVA rays.

3: Caudalie Beautifying Suncare Oil, Factor 30, €23.50.

So after a few days of a base, I always turn to an oil to get an even better tan. However, I don’t lessen the SPF levels. This dream in a bottle is rich in grape oil, that nourishes the skin whilst boosting its tan, for radiant skin with no greasy residue. The best bit about this Caudalie product? It was specifically designed to not harm the marine environment.

4: Lancaster ‘Sun Sport’ Invisible Mist Wet Skin, Factor 30, €31.80.

While I spend most of my time on the beach while on holidays, sometimes I like to get a bit active. You know yourself… rent a bike or a jet ski! And this is perfect for a more action packed day in the sun. This water and sweat resistant, anti-sand mist can be applied even on wet skin, without leaving traces after spreading. Perfecto.

5: Sol De Janeiro Bum Bum Sol Oil, Factor 30, €41.

Sweet lord I cannot express how much I love this brand, and the fragrance that comes with it. The Sol Broad Spectrum SPF30 is the beauty product you didn’t know you were missing this summer. Infused with body-luscious luminisers and nourishing skin-smoothers for instantly gorgeous, touchable skin that looks and feels healthy and amazing. DREAM.
