Getting stood up by a date: if it’s ever happened to you before, you’ll know how awful and mortifying it actually is. However, one man in Canada decided to make the situation even more embarrassing for himself by getting the police involved.

Cnews reports that a man who took a bus trip across Canada for a date with a woman that he had met online, called 911 after he realised that he had been stood up. Awkward.

Apparently the man said he was supposed to be meeting the woman he had been chatting with online, but when he arrived at the city’s bus terminal (their pre-arranged meeting spot) she was nowhere to be found.

So he did what anyone would do (NOT) he rang the police and freaked out...

The police said that the man became angry and called them up, demanding that they “track down” his missing date and find out just why on earth she stood him up.

When the police politely reminded the man about how the 911 number was supposed to be used, he became even angrier.

The police dispatcher suggested that he find a place to stay for the night and cool off.

We wonder if this guy has seen MTV’s new show Catfish yet?
