Her.ie girls Amy and Patricia are nearing the end of their Weight Watchers challenge. During this time the girls have reached goals, dropped dress sizes and learned a lot about themselves and their eating habits.
This week, the girls are talking about going back to the basics, trying some new recipes and getting in their all-important exercise.
Twice a week, Amy and Patricia will be giving an in depth look at what it’s really like to live life while following the Weight Watchers plan. To keep up with the girls’ journey make sure you check out their previous diary entry by clicking here.

When it comes to losing weight, gaining the odd pound here and there is also part of the equation (unfortunately). So another weigh-in down and I’m up a pound, but after my weekend I think that’s to be expected. I did let my hair down probably a bit more than I should have. These things happen though and I’m sure I’ll get that pesky pound off soon enough.
I will be honest and admit that as we near the end of our Weight Watchers challenge, I’m finding myself seriously starting to lose steam. I know that motivation only goes so far and I’m grateful that I’ve had it driving me forwards over the past few weeks, but I think I need a shake-up in order to reignite my spark for my weight loss.
With this in mind, I’ve decided to go back to the beginning this week. I’m going to re-read my Weight Watchers booklets. I’m going to track (and measure!) everything that goes past my mouth and I’m really going to throw myself into some exercise.
I’m also going to get back into the habit of making the 0 ProPoints soups and having them on hand when I feel like I need something a bit ‘more’ to fill me up on these cold evenings.
We only have two weeks left and I’d love it if I could end my journey on a high note. I have been pretty bad when it’s come to getting my exercise in over the past few weeks, so I’m really hoping that some extra cardio will have a positive impact on my weight loss.
I know that this weekend will be pretty hard (I have a celebration coming up and I just know the cake and drinks will be everywhere!) but I’m hoping I can stay on track, get some exercise and feel more positive about my weigh-in next week.

I knew this week was going to be a busy one for me so on Tuesday evening I made sure to plan my week’s meals and fill up my fridge accordingly and it really helped when my motivation wavered. Clearly it worked because I’m down another half a pound despite all my running around which is great!
On Monday I made two portions of Weight Watchers beef stirfry and kept them in the freezer until last night when I was tempted to indulge in something heavy and not ProPoint friendly. It’s nice to have your healthy meals ready to go for days when you’re feeling a little unmotivated or a lunchtime hot chicken roll is calling you from the office desk!
This weekend I plan to have a quiet one and I think I’m going to try not to use my extra 49 ProPoints this week. I really want to kick start my weight loss once again as I feel I’ve slowed down since the beginning of January which my leader said is natural.
I think this week I’m going to really focus on tracking and I’m going to try new recipes. Although the weather is cold, I’ve found the Weight Watchers 0 ProPoints soup a real crutch but I’ve made a huge salad for the weekend to fill up my plate and stop me craving seconds.
The weather has been so bad that it’s hard to find the motivation to get out for your walk but it has to be done. I think I might change my route this week to keep myself interested and maybe encourage a larger weight loss next week. I’m really determined to keep going with Weight Watchers even when this blog ends. It’s not a quick fix but really about making simple changes for life. I hope you all have a successful weekend too!
