The second actor to play Ryan Connor in Coronation Street has quit the famous cobbles.
Sol Heras has announced that he will leave the show after his current contract ends. Heras joined the soap in July of last year.
He succeeded Ben Thompson in the role of Michelle Connor’s son.
The actor’s final scenes are due to air this summer. His character Ryan will reportedly be offered a DJing job in Ibiza, a world away from the Manchester cobbles. After girlfriend Katy dumped him, Ryan decides there is no reason for him to stay.
Heras also admitted that he has been receiving abuse from soap fans after his character broke up the relationship between Chesney and Katy, and for his character’s treatment of her.
Heras is not closing the door on the soap completely though.
