Mars Ireland Releases Statement Regarding Product Recall

The Irish recall concerns only these listed products.

Mars Ireland has released a statement regarding the news that Mars products would be recalled in 55 countries.

Mars has taken the precautionary step of recalling products after a consumer complaint detailed a piece of red plastic found in a Snickers bar.

The plastic was traced back to a factory in Dutch town of Veghel, sparking a massive recall which affected 55 countries including Ireland and the UK.

Now Mars Ireland have released a statement with more information including exactly which products have been affected:

The statement reads:

Mars Ireland is recalling funsize MARS® MILKY WAY® MIX VARIETY PACK® and CELEBRATIONS® products after a piece of plastic was found in one of our products.  In some instances, such a piece of plastic could present a choking hazard.

The Irish recall concerns only the products below with the following best before dates that were manufactured in the Netherlands and distributed in Ireland:

Mars

This is an isolated incident and only the above products manufactured in the Netherlands are impacted. No other varieties of chocolate, pack formats or bar sizes are affected in Ireland and no other best before dates or products manufactured at any other location are impacted.

To date, we have only received one consumer complaint. In Ireland, we have not received any consumer complaints.
