Feeling Good with Georgina: Treat Yourself to a Heavenly Lavender Bath

This week, Georgina Ahern reminds us that exercise isn't the only important part of looking after yourself. Taking time out is fundamental too and what better way to do that then by sinking into a simple, lavender scented bath? Don't mind if we do!

Ladies, taking a moment to chill is as important to your health as your daily exercise so be sure to treat yourself whenever time allows. Thankfully, a really easy and cost effective way of doing this is to take a simple bath with your favourite salts or essential oils. I love lavender and luckily, we have heaps of it in our garden. It looks pretty and adds nice colour. With its fab fresh fragrance, lavender has many properties that offer a calming, relaxed feeling.

After a hectic day don’t underestimate the benefits of a relaxing bath and  lavender’s power to help you unwind and de-stress. For that very reason, lavender is found in so many products from shampoos, soaps, bath oils ,candles and so on.

Lavender can  help reduce any tension or any anxious feeling its suggested  by simply  inhaling with a deep breath  or crushing and rubbing the flower between your fingers but it works particularly well in nice, warm bath.

Georgina’s Top Summer Soak: Sally Miller’s True Lavender Bath Salts

My fav bath treat at the moment is Sally Miller’s True Lavender Bath Salts and as I’m on my holidays at the mo, it’s the perfect excuse to  take time out and relax. An added bonus is that lavender oil has properties that are also great for sunburn.

As a fair maiden with sensitive skin, I need to be kind to it and lavender has a great soothing effect perfect after a day in the sizzling sun. Also, it’s great if you have been unlucky enough to be attacked by the dreaded  insects bites while away  or out and about in the summer evenings. Lavender is one hell of a herb!

If you’ve got any wonder herbs you’d like to recommend, let me know in the comments below.

Until next time, be healthy, be happy and remember: it’s all about the simple things,

Georgina xx
