Now that summer is over, it’s back to school for the children and back to class for me – time for some hardcore work on my core!
You can jog, cycle, dance, spin, boxercise… whatever your fitness love or hobby is, but looking after your body alignment is important too.
Working your core postural muscles helps to keep your body balanced and in line, and I recommend trying a Pilates class.
Dispel the myth that it’s easy, or that morning classes are just a yummy mummy convention. Pilates is great for everyone and has many benefits:
- Strength without bulk
- Better posture and body alignment
- Longer, leaner legs and arms
- Promotes weight loss
- Flat tummy with strong spine
- Overall good core strength
Once a week during school term I try a beginners Pilates class, and I love it.
When I started I thought it would be a piece of cake… I was wrong!
Yes you feel revitalised and energised, but it’s not easy. It’s enjoyable, but it’s also a great, challenging workout that helps build your endurance and fitness levels too.
Sticking with the classes and keeping your workouts consistent means results will show even at beginner level. You get all the benefits of a group class, yet the attention of a personal training session.
The main focus in Pilates is working on your spinal and pelvic alignment. Therefore, it is very beneficial to your overall body alignment.
You will feel great, with a longer leaner appearance overall. Think long legs, slim arms, toned tum and a total body workout achieved.
Enjoy!
