Cuddles, Compliments and Comfy Underwear – Is This What Women Want?

Sainsbury's have been on a quest to discover what makes women feel good - how many of these 50 things apply to you?

Anyone who has suffered through the pain of wearing an uncomfortable bra or knickers all day will attest; comfy underwear is a godsend.

So we can’t say we’re surprised to see that smalls that support you made it to the number two spot in a comprehensive list of fifty things that make a woman feel good.

The nice knickers were second only a different, but equally lovely, form of support – a cuddle from your loved one.

Other feel-good moments to make the top ten included buying a present for someone that they clearly loved, (generous lot, aren’t we?), finding a bargain and getting a compliment.

A spokeswoman for Sainsbury’s, which commissioned the ‘feel good factor’ poll of 2,000 women said:

”In January, we all need a pick-me-up but as this survey shows, it doesn’t need to cost the earth.

“And with the average female stating she feels good in what she is wearing for just three days a week perhaps a few more surprise compliments, alongside tucking into a good camembert and a good book could brighten the winter months no end”.

It doesn’t cost the earth to make us happy either, a simple bubble bath at home was rated more highly than a spa day, while reading a book beat watching a soap opera. And speaking to our rumbling ‘trying-to-hold-back-for-January’ tummies, indulging in a bar of chocolate or wedge of cheese is more pleasurable for many women than having a manicure or going on a first date.

Chocolate in a bubble bath… double the happiness.

The Sainsbury’s spokesperson added:

”January gives a great opportunity to take stock of the year ahead and decide what really makes you feel good.

”Our research has shown that spending time with friends and family as well as quality time to dedicate to hobbies – whether it be reading, playing sport or hitting the shops – make most women happy and there’s no better time to start as you mean to go on.”
