Film Couples That Just Wouldn't Happen In Real Life
Don't get us wrong, we love nothing more than getting lost in the world of a romantic film but there are some couples that when you think about it, are just too unrealistic.
Edward and Vivian from Pretty Woman - He's a wealthy businessman and she's a hooker. Do we really need to explain as to why this mismatched pairing wouldn't work?
Ben and Alison from Knocked Up - Asides from looks, and we don't mean any offence to Seth Rogan in saying that, the chances of finding love with a one night stand who got you pregnant is crazy.
Edward and Bella from Twilight - We're not sure about your fathers but ours certainly wouldn't let us go out with a vampire even if he didn't eat humans!
Aladdin and Jasmine from Aladdin - They are one of our favourite Disney couples but in reality, there's no way a member of the royal family would be allowed to marry a thief.
John and Jane from Mr and Mrs Smith - Would you ever stay with someone who tried to kill you? Of course you wouldn't, no matter how good looking he was!
John and Lori from Ted - Okay, if our boyfriend insisted on having his teddy bear in bed we'd run a mile. Also Mila Kunis and Mark Wahlberg? Not likely.
Ben and Elaine from The Graduate - No woman, that we know anyway, would go near a man who had slept with their mother. It'd just be wrong!
Shrek and Fiona from Shrek - We love the idea of true love and firmly believe that there is more to life than looks. But Fiona is a princess and Shrek is, well he's an ogre.
Noah and Allie from The Notebook - Even Ryan Gosling himself said that this film gave him an unrealistic idea of romance. The truth is reality could never live up to this onscreen relationship.
Victor and Ilsa from Casablanca - The only reason we think this couple wouldn't work is because she is clearly still in love with Rick. They have a special song for goodness sake!
We have included some of our favourite onscreen couples in this list and while we're not saying they're utterly impossible, they are a tad unrealistic.
Fellow cynics, enjoy!
