The first look at Nicole Kidman’s ‘twisty’ new drama The Undoing is here.

The series, which is due to premiere on HBO in North America in May, sees the Oscar-winning actress reunite with Big Little Leis EP David E. Kelley.

Kelley is the creator and showrunner of the limited series, which also stars Hugh Grant as Kidman’s husband and Noah Jupe as their son.

The miniseries stars Kidman as Grace Sachs, who is “living the only life she ever wanted for herself.”

“She’s a successful therapist on the brink of publishing her first book, has a devoted husband and young son who attends an elite private school in New York City,” the description continues.

“Weeks before her book is published, a chasm opens in her life: a violent death, a missing husband, and, in the place of a man Grace thought she knew, only a chain of terrible revelations. Left behind in the wake of a spreading and very public disaster, and horrified by the ways in which she has failed to heed her own advice, Grace must dismantle one life and create another for her child and herself.”

Speaking at the Television Critics Association press tour earlier this weekend, Kidman teased what fans can expect from the miniseries.

“It’s so twisty and nothing is what it seems,” she said [via EW].  “It’s so hard to talk about it because as it unfolds you can reveal more things but right now, choosing to unknow things is a fascinating part of human nature.

“When you choose and what you choose to believe and what you choose to see, that’s the basis of a lot of the psychology of this series. We choose to see certain things. Also, everyone has secrets.”

Yeah, this sounds like it’s going to be right up our street.
