It looks like winter Love Island may soon be getting their first Irish contestant.

Yes, Evoke reports Dubliner Saffron Thompson is going to be entering the Love Island villa.

Her most recent Instagram post shows Saffron posing with her suitcases in London’s Heathrow Airport. And while she told her followers she was headed to Ibiza, insiders told the publication that she was Cape Town (and Love Island villa) bound.

Which would make sense, given the fact that her friends have been flooding the comments section with messages wishing her the “best of luck”, to “enjoy every minute of it” and to “go make the best memories”.

The publication report Saffron met with three other girls from the UK, with one of them sharing a picture of her boarding card which showed they were flying to Cape Town.

Of course, nothing has been confirmed yet. But we would love to see an Irish Islander join this year’s villa – so we’re definitely keeping our fingers crossed.

The news comes as Friday night’s episode saw the first Islander get dumped from Love Island.

The boys were the ones who picked who they wanted to couple up. with, with newbies Finley Tapp and Connagh Howard picking Paige Turley and Sophie Piper respectively.

Mike Boateng coupled up with Leanne Armstong, while Callum Jones and Shaughna Phillips coupled up. Connor Durman picked Siânnise Fudge and, finally, Nas Majeed picked Jess Gale

This meant that Jess’ twin sister, Eve, was left solo – and was ultimately dumped from the Love Island villa.
