Coronation Street’s Daniel Osbourne will reportedly cheat on his wife, Sinead Tinker, after her cancer is said to return.
An insider told The Sun that the devastating storyline will see Daniel grow closer to Bethany Platt.
The pair lean on each other as they talk about their problems – Daniel’s concerns about Sinead’s health, and Bethany’s abuse at the hands of Nathan Curtis – when there’s a “spark between them”.
Bethany and Daniel end up sharing a kiss – which leaves both of them overcome with guilt.
The source added:
“Bethany and Daniel will grow closer over the next few weeks. There’s a spark between them that comes at the worst possible time as Sinead’s cancer has returned.
“Daniel leans a bit too much on Bethany and she him after all her abuse by Nathan’s gang is brought back up. They’re both really vulnerable and one minute they’re talking and the next they’re snogging.
“Daniel is going to be guilt-stricken over what he’s done to Sinead, and he’s terrified he’s getting his dad’s worst qualities. Bethany will confide in her family over what’s happened to try and come to terms with her own guilt.”
It comes after the storyline for Katie McGlynn’s exit from Coronation Street has reportedly been revealed.
The actress, who has played Sinead Tinker for the last six years, is reported to be leaving the long-running soap.
And while McGlynn’s exit has yet to be officially confirmed by Coronation Street bosses, reports earlier this summer revealed the devastating exit storyline in the works for her character.
According to The Sun, Sinead will lose her cancer battle, in what is being called “an unforgettable departure set to leave viewers in tears.”
The Underworld machinist will get the heartbreaking news that all of the treatments she had been undergoing have failed – and she will be given the option to stay at home, or move to a hospice.
