Excellent news.

Do you like Derry Girls?

Of course you do. It’s Derry Girls.

It’s funny, it’s topical, it’s probably one of the greatest things to come out of Ireland since Mickey Joe Harte or, as he now likes to be known, Mickey Harte.

Essentially, it’s a fantastic show and we are blessed to have it in our lives.

We are so blessed, in fact, that O’Neill’s have only gone and launched a range of Derry Girls jerseys that we can all slip into whenever we’re feeling a bit patriotic.

Starting at €50.00, the jerseys feature an Our Lady Immaculate College crest, O’Neill’s branding, and an assortment of characters from the hit Channel 4 show.

The full range can be found below.

‘Sweet Suffering Jehovah’ jersey – €50.00

‘I am a Derry Girl’ jersey – €50.00

‘Catch Yerself On’ jersey – €50.00

‘Wise Up’ jersey – €50.00

‘Derry Hurls’ jersey – €50.00

The jerseys are available to buy from the O’Neill’s website now.

This comes after the first season of Derry Girls finally arrived on Netflix UK and Ireland last month.

The sitcom is the creation of acclaimed writer Lisa McGee, who has mined her own experiences to create a candid, one-of-a-kind, family-centred comedy.

While series one saw the gang navigating their teens in 1990s Derry against the backdrop of The Troubles, series two saw them navigating their parents, parties, love interests and school amidst the precarious peace process.

Following the news of Derry Girls’ season three renewal earlier this year, Lisa McGee said:

“I love writing this show and I’m so thrilled to be able to continue the Derry Girls story, thank you Channel 4, Erin and the eejits live to fight another day!”

Derry Girls series two launched with a consolidated audience of 3.2m viewers for episode one, which makes it Channel 4’s biggest UK comedy launch episode for 15 years.

In Northern Ireland, the series two launch was the most watched programme across all channels since series one.
